Position Description

McKesson is seeking an experienced, highly motivated product manager for our emerging ecommerce channel. This role will work closely with the ecommerce product strategy leader, the ecommerce program team, and ecommerce sales leaders to expand and manage the product function, driving revenue and meeting the needs of our growing healthcare B2B2C customer base.

This person will also need to excel in project management in order to hold others accountable and deliver results. Strong communication skills will be key in reporting progress and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. We also desire someone skilled in finding efficiencies and building processes for this fast-growing segment. Top candidates will also have experience in assortment & category management and vendor relationship building.

Ecommerce is a rapidly expanding space in medical distribution. The top candidate will need a proactive, problem solving approach as we expand and grow. Additionally, we need someone with attention to detail and an appetite to analyze data, trends, and make recommendations. It is an exciting opportunity to be part of McKesson’s fastest growing segment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for product management of the ecommerce assortment- including closing gaps and expanding

  • Collaborate with Sr Manager to support the product strategy and go to market plans

  • Work with supplier management to create category specific ecommerce plans

  • Communicate and incorporate supplier strategies into assortment plans

  • Negotiate access with suppliers (vendor approvals process with CM)

  • Focus on margin enhancement plans with category management and suppliers

  • Drive increased penetration of existing customers through assortment plan to hit revenue goal

  • Reports on performance, sales, GP targets etc

  • Collaborates with pricing and rebates team and find efficiencies

  • Analyzes assortment performance, data, and makes recommendations to change/optimize

  • Supports function of expansion into new categories and management of those suppliers

  • Collaboration with inventory planning and support of new pilot program

  • Leveraging supplier content; interact with Marketing on plans, communication, and messaging

Minimum Requirements

5 years experience in areas such as product management, purchasing, marketing/sales, and or finance

Critical Skills

  • Strong experience in product and assortment management within a distribution and/or retail company

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Business management experience with understanding of key drivers and metrics (revenue/profitability/financial goals)

  • Demonstrated success building strategic relationships with vendors

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Ability to work with data, analyzing trends, and summarizing results

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Strong interpersonal and influential skills; ability to interact at various levels of the organization

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Background in Medical/Healthcare Supply Management desirable

  • Experience in ecommerce is a plus

  • Process Improvement background

  • Strong tactical execution in addition to strategic thinking

  • Thorough understanding of supply chain operations

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership in a matrix organization with the ability to communicate ideas to stakeholders and decision makers

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment, managing needs of multiple parties

  • Comfortable communicating with all levels of management
