PURPOSE In accordance with a physician's order, the Occupational Therapist assesses, evaluates, plans, and carries out occupational therapy programs in the hospital as well as satellite clinics to provide rehabilitation for physical and/or psychosocial impaired patients. Assist the patient in reaching their maximal reasonable level of function and to cope with their limitation

QUALIFICATIONS Education: BS or MS in Occupational Therapy Certification: Virginia Occupational Therapy License. BLS/ CPR required. Experience: Satisfactorily completed three clinical affiliations. Proficient in evaluation and treatment in basic ortho/neuro/ped. Must be receptive to patient education process and be creative in planning, teaching, and setting goals for patients. Must have good oral and written communication skills and proficient in documentation. Maintain professional appearance and show empathy and compassion for patients, families and personnel. Must be receptive and supportive of new ideas and able to work within a team environment.

HOURS OF WORK As scheduled by Department Director to ensure appropriate coverage of department services. Must be able to work weekends as scheduled. Participates in on-call requirements as per department policy.
