The Assessment Response Center (ARC) is a state of the art Behavioral Health clinical assessment and patient placement function that is located on the Chippenham Hospital campus. The ARC clinical team is composed of Registered Nurses, Therapists, Social Workers and Counselors who provide mental health assessments for patients of all ages located throughout the hospitals of the HCA Capital Division who may benefit from inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care. The Patient Flow Coordinator responds to phone calls, fax, and e-mail requests for information, admission, transfer, and other non-clinical information. This role supports the clinical assessment team by assuring rapid response to requests for services. Responsibilities include:

  • Responds to phone calls quickly demonstrating good customer service skills.

  • Gathers initial information which is communicated to the clinicians for assessment and next steps.

  • Helps to locate available resources and coordinates information to support patient disposition.

  • Follows established policy and procedures in performing job functions.

  • Coordinates and participates with appropriate interested parties and physicians through the patient referral inquiry, admission, treatment and discharge process.

  • Tracks and reports on all key indicators related to calls, assessment, admissions.

  • Gathers information and develops reports outlining activities as directed including volume, response time, and outcomes.

    EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

  • Higher education at some level in a behavioral health or emergency medical field (preferred)

    EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a behavioral healthcare setting, emergency department setting, or EMS (preferred)

HOURS:

  • Full Time

  • Night Shift (7p-7a)

  • 72 hours every pay period (every two weeks)

  • Weekend & Holiday Rotations
