Job Summary

The Roanoke Water Group of AECOM is actively seeking a driven, creative, and talented Civil Engineering Technical Leader to provide technical and management guidance for a team of design professional. The Group works on a wide range of projects for government and private clients in local and international settings, The technical emphasis of the Group is civil design including site development, stormwater, water resources, and water and wastewater. This position is located in our Roanoke, Virginia office.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established design oriented career in a variety of civil works projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversight of technical execution and quality control

  • Establishing and meeting team goals

  • Professional development of team personnel

  • Monitoring of the team's fiscal performance

  • Participation in business development activities

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience performing civil engineering design of various civil works projects

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • Experience in implementing design quality assurance and quality control activities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated team-building ability and internal/external networking skills

  • Experience in direct supervision and leadership of administrative and junior level staff

  • Ability to interact regularly and professionally with senior management and technical staff in other offices on business development and project execution issues

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

  • Proven organization skills with a proven track record in client satisfaction while meeting deliverable and deadline requirements

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

  • Leadership experience in proposal preparation and business development is desirable
