Kaiser Permanente Product Communication Manager - Rockville, MD in Rockville, Maryland

Improve the overall understanding of KP products with both internal & external audiences. The manager must understand the specific operational challenges Kaiser Permanente faces throughout the service areas, & collaborate with area leadership to develop integrated marketing communications for KP's product portfolio. The Manager develops communications initiatives designed to support the growth of commercial & governmental business segments including KPIF, business accounts, & Medicaid. To improve the image & awareness levels of Kaiser Permanente, the Manager integrates KP's brand strategies into all product communication through participation in the planning & execution of marketing programs. The Manager oversees a professional communications staff responsible for providing complex communications consulting, planning, & implementation for Kaiser Permanente products & programs to meet organizational brand, reputation, & growth goals.

Essential Functions: - Strategic Product Communications: Develops & implements highly complex, region-wide integrated product communications programs to help ensure achievement of market positioning & member growth. Develops & ensures that messages are consistent with the Kaiser Permanente br& guidelines. Interacts with all Mid-Atlantic States Region office & service area internal clients to plan & conduct marketing outreach. Leads a team to implement the communications plans & programs by directing the development of and/or creating communications materials. Leverages communications resources at the regional & national levels to successfully ensure the execution of a robust, integrated plan. - Member Communications: Works with the Director, Creative & Editorial Services & others to support clinical, benefit, & other types of member communications programs, aligning them with service area operational priorities & initiatives. Evaluates & develops new member materials about KP products to ensure compliance with state & federal regulations. - Departmental Workflow Procedures: Provides all necessary input, collaboration & participation with creative services to ensure that finished projects are consistent with the strategic product communications plan, meet departmental quality & accuracy standards, & meets compliance requirements. - Fiscal Management: Oversees product communications budget is met. Determines the most effective use of dollars spent on product communications. Uses departmental tools to track expenditures. Provides regular description of budget reports. - Member Onboarding: Oversees the development & production of new member kits, which are sent continuously throughout the year. Coordinates mailing with external vendor. Collaborates with internal teams that gather data to produce the mailing list. Serves as the communications representative on crossfunctional teams that design onboarding programs. - Internal Communications: Develops information with Internal Communications, targeting physicians and staff to support the ongoing implementation of business objectives. - Executive Communication: Supports MSBD & other regional leaders' communicationswith internal (staff & physicians) & external constituents (media, elected officials, purchasers, community leaders, regulators, etc.) with the goal of improving the image of Kaiser Permanente. Works closely Media Relations to develop regional media outreach regarding new product offerings & brand-related initiatives as requested. - Research: Collaborates with KP research teams to conduct original research & participates in existing & ongoing research projects designed to help the region underst& the effectiveness of product collateral. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience - Seven (7) years experience in a professional proposal, marketing, or related communications environment including that in a large, multi-faceted organization, with a minimum of three years of health care communications experience. - Three (3) years experience in product communications, especially new product communications development & product education launch communications. - Three (3) years experience in planning & implementing multi-faceted communications in a large complex organization. Education - Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, english, public relations, business communications, or a related field, or four (4) years of directly related experience required. - High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration - N/A.
