Job Description:

Investment Consultants are phone-based licensed representatives that provide prospects and self-directed investors with financial assistance by identifying broader product and service solutions that meet their investment and savings needs. Investment Consultants demonstrate knowledge of investments and financial markets and apply key principles appropriately to the individual client's investment needs. Additionally, they align Merrill Lynch and Bank of America products and services where appropriate. Licensing requirements are as follows: Series 7, 66 or their equivalent.

Position Description

The goals of the Retirement Help Desk Investment Consultant are to:

Drive results through new accounts (brokerage and bank), account funding, and referrals

Provide one-on-one assistance with clients savings, banking, brokerage, and retirement needs

Sell the Merrill Edge and Bank of America platforms, resulting in asset accumulation and retention

Support retirement inquiries.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Highly motivated to leverage provided opportunities in an effort to meet or exceed sales targets on both a quarterly and annual basis across all facets of the enterprise.

  • Conduct consultative discussions with either Bank of America and Merrill Edge clients or prospects in order to assist with ascertaining retirement goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for working with clients to determine the platform within Merrill Edge/Merrill Lynch/Bank of America that best suits the clients individual needs.

  • Investment Consultants will need to demonstrate knowledge of investments and financial markets and apply key principles appropriately to the individual client's investment needs.

  • Adhere to all compliance/risk procedures, follow corporate and industry protocols, and acts in a manner which protects the interests of the customer and Merrill Edge at all times.

Required Skills: MUST"" have these skills to be minimally qualified.

Series 7 and 66 (63/65) are required; may consider candidates holding Series 7 & 63 with the stipulation that the Series 66 must be obtained within 90 days.

  • Goal oriented, with superior follow-up skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment

  • Must obtain CRPC designation within 12 months of hire

Desired Skills :

One-two years of financial advisory or investment sales experience

  • Successful experience and track record of achieving sales goals

  • Strong verbal, written and listening skills

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (business related discipline strongly preferred) or one-two years of relevant work experience
