Position Summary:

Looking for a real world exposure with a paid internship? Look no farther than to Penske’s Sales and Operations Management Internship program. You will be actively engaged in an entrepreneurial environment steeped in a tradition of success. In this 12 week internship program, you will receive personalized training and be exposed side by side with managers and peers who started in a similar program. Regardless of experience or college major, this position will give you the business experience you need to excel. We offer a structured training program, which will enable you to apply your education, training, and skills to real world situations.

Throughout the 12 week internship, weekly meetings with managers will ensure your involvement and growth throughout the program.

The program will conclude with a presentation to our leadership team. This is a great opportunity as you develop skills while earning additional income throughout the summer.

Upon successful completion of the program and successful performance in role, those completing their junior year of college would have the opportunity to accelerate into the Assistant Rental Manager role upon graduation. Those completing their sophomore year would have the opportunity to continue part time employment. Relocation opportunities would also be an option.

Exposure Opportunities:

  • Inbound and outbound sales process working directly with our truck rental customers

  • Generate new business leads and maintain existing customer relationships

  • Manage and oversee large fleet of vehicles

  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

  • Working in a Team environments towards common goals

  • Coordinate all aspects of customer's relationships

  • Training and exposure to your locations P&L

  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.



  • At least 6 months of retail sales and/or customer service experience preferred

  • Must be enrolled in a 4 year college/university

  • Students looking for an internship are required to review this position with their school representatives for any qualified education credits

  • A valid driver’s license is required, as is the ability and willingness to drive our Penske vehicles, including a 26’ box truck

  • Must be willing to complete a department of transportation drug screen and physical.

  • Ability to make independent decisions, work well in a team environment, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required.

  • Proficiency in the use of a computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required

  • Willingness to work the required schedule (estimated at 35-40 hours/week), work at the specific location required, travel as necessary, accurately complete Penske’s employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
