Position Overview:

The purpose of this position is to safely and efficiently process quality parts through the heat treat furnaces and related equipment to support plant operations. The heat treat operator will need to:

Essential Responsibilities

Operate gas fired carbon-nitriding furnaces and associated systems by performing following essential functions:

  • Consults process work instructions and procedures for proper recipes, instructions, and reactions.

  • Select and regulate furnace operating systems to include temperature, load rates, and belt speeds per established recipes

  • React to furnace upset conditions per reaction plans and procedures

  • Maintain furnaces and systems by performing daily maintenance tasks to include shim testing, adding quench oil, adjusting gas flows, monitoring control systems

  • Read, post, and maintain charts and logs as required per work instructions and standard work

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area by practicing 5-S


Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

  • No relocation is provided. Only candidates within 50 miles of the Roxboro, NC facility will be considered.

  • Minimum 6 months experience in an industrial setting

Position Criteria

  • Operate a 5000 lb. capacity lift truck

  • Ability to climb 15 foot ladder

  • Ability to periodically work in temperatures of 100 degrees F

  • Must be able to use a computer for imputing logs and recipes

  • Must be able to successfully complete Heat Treat Training

  • Basic math and reading skills
