Purpose and Objectives
The Senior Market Research Analyst works closely with business development, subject matter experts, proposal analysts, and other key staff to research, capture and share customer needs and market conditions for K12 student assessment products and services.
Collect and analyze data on established and prospective customers and competitors in the K12 student assessment market.
Prepare reports that interpret market conditions and potentials.
Collect data for and collaborate with business development staff on account plans and strategies.
Review and analyze customer documentation, technical reports, blueprints, legislation (i.e. Every Student Succeed Act), proposals, etc.
Analyze competitor proposals and present findings.
Review RFPs in detail and identify mandatory business requirements related to assessment design, and test design and development.
Collaborate with school assessment experts to identify pre-work needs and provide necessary support in RFP pre-work activities.
Collect and analyze competitor pricing and best and final offer (BAFO) strategies.
Develop and maintain a competitive intelligence database to provide valuable information for state and district sales opportunities.
Support the business development team’s entry of sales pipeline data and generate reports on sales trends, opportunities, and performance.
BA or BS in Education, Business, Marketing/Research or similar degree.
2 years of data, market, or competitive analysis preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Docs.
Proficiency with Salesforce or other similar customer relationship database platform preferred.

Excellent written communication skills, including writing and editing.
Ability to think creatively and problem solve.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work under tight deadlines on fast-paced projects.
Time management, planning, multi-task and project management skills
Ability to work independently.
Understanding of student assessment, standards, blueprints, assessment content, item development, and rubrics.
Knowledge of standards-based reform, curriculum, and instruction.
