General Statement of Duties: The Regulatory Compliance/ Construction Project Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all regulatory programs within the department to include collection and retaining of data records regarding testing and inspection and maintenance of all affiliated programs. The position would also include analyzing and applying process improvements to these programs and ensuring that all programs are tailored to the current or adopted codes in which the inspecting agencies are using to evaluate facilities. They will oversee and coordinate the efforts of service vendors in order to achieve compliance of repairs associated with discrepancies found during inspections. They will coordinatethe functions of projects to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, and funding conditions. They willmanage the hired Contractor’s to assure quality service, as well as be responsible for meeting Joint Commission Standards, complying with hospital policy and procedures, managing supplies, equipment, and promoting teamwork within the department.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:

  1. Education:Associate of Applied Science

  2. Experience:5 Years in a healthcare setting.Preferred to have a fundamental knowledge ofmechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic disciplines. A high level of demonstrable expertise for supporting his/her work force. Fundamental knowledge of mechanical trades, cost estimating and manpower, utilization, interpretation of blueprints and schematics, budgeting and resource allocation, personnel management, labor laws and regulations, record keeping. Computer skills including but not limited to, Word, Excel, Visio and computer generated work order systems. Will possess demonstrable knowledge of Regulatory codes and standards as enforced by TJC, CMS, TDSHS, IBC, IFC, TCEQ etc.

  3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
