Position Title Coatings Engineer - SWRMC

AECOM is actively seeking a Coatings Engineer to work in Code 241 at SWRMC. The position is located at SWRMC in San Diego, CA.
Support solving complex technical problems concerning ship coating systems.
Provide technical adjudication regarding coating systems that do not meet specification.
Review coating related work items to ensure technical acceptability.
Identify existing coating systems and determine compatibility.
Conduct engineering investigations and analyses of coating system failures.
Recommend corrective repair actions using root cause analysis.
Utilize and apply NBPI skills in assessing coating application.
At least ten years technical experience with corrosion control/coatings, or Bachelors Degree in Engineering (marine, mechanical, naval architecture, ocean, or similar) and at least six years technical experience beyond college (counts for four years of technical experience) in corrosion control and/or coatings.
Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
Some positions may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, design solutions to problems in ships structures.
Position may require travel.
Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Ideal candidate has experience providing engineering services to U.S. Navy or in shipyards.
