Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking two Engineering Technicians specializing in Firefighting, pollution abatement and FW systems to work in Code 243/251 at SWRMC. The position is located at SWRMC in San Diego, CA.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Safe operation of Fire Fighting, Pollution Abatement and Freshwater systems.

  • Maintain Personnel Protective Equipment, Test Equipment and Tools, and Training as required to fully perform all functions.

  • The contractor must provide engineering technical support in accordance with contract for the following Fire Fighting systems: AFFF, Halo, Co2, Fire Main, Freshwater, CMWS, Mist and drain systems, HFP, APC.

  • The contractor must provide engineering technical support for the following Pollution Abatement systems: Oily water separators, Oily waste transfer pump and system, Oil content monitors, Main and secondary drainage systems, Trash incinerators, Plastic waste processor, Metal, plastic, and glass shredders, Pulpers, Sewage plants (collection holding and transfer (CHT), vacuum collection holding and transfer (VCHT), evaporative toilet system (e.g. GATX).

  • The contractor must provide engineering technical support in accordance with section 3.3 for the following Fresh Water systems: Electronics cooling, Potable water, Brominator pumps, Reverse osmosis plants, Plumbing, Electrolytic disinfectant generators.

  • Complete all other position related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least ten years technical experience with described systems.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

  • Position may require travel.

  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical or mechanical focused experience.

  • Prior technician onboard Naval vessels or experience with Regional Maintenance Centers/shipyards highly desired.

  • Experience with modern Navy Ship systems a plus (PLCs, electrical controllers, DDG-51, DDG-1000, LCS)
