Our San Francisco Buildings + Places Studio is a multi-disciplinary design practice featuring professionals in Urban Design, Master Planning, Architecture, Interiors, Landscape Architecture, and Economics. Our projects vary widely in size, type, scope and complexity, and often draw on collaborations with other disciplines within the AECOM family such as Transportation, Energy, Water, and Building Engineering. These cross-disciplinary collaborations create a unique and unparalleled environment for learning about and shaping the built world. We are looking for a junior designer who wants to apply their passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive work environment.
The designer will be working in project teams and assisting on conceptual and schematic design packages, working drawings, supporting RFP responses and interview preparation materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for design & planning solutions. Applicants should have strong capabilities in 3D modeling and architectural visualization. Candidate must be able to contribute to a team effort, work independently and complete a task at a given deadline.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Actively participate in a project from beginning to end working in a team environment
Help the team to stay on time and on budget
Help in recruiting new interns
Assist in preparation of interior designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings
Occasional field work may be required to gather building measurements and other data in order to create interior design plans and specifications
Assist senior-level designers with development of design solutions, perform site surveys, and maintain resource materials
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Preparation of FF&E budget spreadsheets
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or other related field required
3+ years of industry experience
Knowledge of production of Interior design construction documents Strong interior design presentation skills
As a professional interior designer, must be on track for the national exam, NCIDQ, and for licensure by the State of California
Must be a team player
Skills in CAD, Revit, Word, Excel, Photoshop, Free hand drawing
Have a working knowledge of furniture and specifications of products for interior environments
Have a strong interest in Space Planning and Design Concept development
Master's degree in Interiors or Architecture
Experience working on projects of 50,000 + or larger preferred
