IBM Research Brazil is seeking exceptional scientists and researchers to conduct basic and applied research in computer science. We invite candidates with an excellent research track record in any of the following areas: Cloud Computing, Grid Computing, Cluster Computing, High Performance Computing, Parallel Programming, Benchmarking, Distributed File Systems, Computer Networks, Distributed Systems, Virtualization, Performance Modeling, Prediction Models, Data Management, MapReduce, Stream Processing, Operating Systems, Computational Sciences, and Artificial Intelligence. A successful candidate is expected to pursue a research career at IBM Research where he/she publishes regularly in top-quality journals and conferences, produces patents as well as other intellectual property assets, and contributes to projects with significant impact in IBM business. The candidate may be also involved in engineering those efforts to an advanced state of feasibility by evaluating ideas and plans and participating in their implementation. Required core competencies include a demonstrated success in research with a good publication track record in top conferences and journals. Good communication skills and an interest in solving real world problems are expected. A PhD degree or Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related areas, is required, as well as fluency in English. International research experience and/or demonstrated participation in multi-disciplinary research work are pluses.
