Current Need

The McKesson Service Continuity Office (SCO) is looking for an IT Engineer to engineer, implement and manage Cloud Recovery services and solutions for McKesson Business Units. This engineering position will also be involved in the design, implementation, testing of cloud recovery service implementations.

This position can be located Scottsdale, AZ; Alpharetta, GA or Las Colinas, TX. Our San Francisco, CA; Rancho Cordova, CA; or North Druid Hills location will be considered for high performing internal candidates.

Position Description

The Sr. DR Services Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Engineer, implement, support and manage IT Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions and services offered by the Service Continuity Office (SCO).

  • Engineer and document streamlined processes and procedures to deliver DR Solutions

  • Review application recovery dependency requirements and implement requirements in the recovery environment to ensure application recovery can be validated during an exercise or an event.

  • Create DR Diagrams in Visio to show application recovery requirements based on information obtained from the Application, Support and SCO teams.

  • Submit appropriate tickets to the respective support groups to have components implemented or configuration items configured which are required to properly protect systems and devices that support critical business applications.

  • Assist or lead application recovery validation tests.

  • Ensure technical issues preventing applications from being recoverable are resolved, validated and documented in a timely manner.

  • Work with vendors and partners to ensure DR solutions are functioning as expected and escalate any issues that are not resolvable.

  • Assist in the testing and evaluation of new product and service offerings that could be considered to enhance DR solutions.

  • Provide training on DR solutions to other SCO team members and SCO customer teams.

  • Collaborate with the SCO and technical teams to enhance services offered by SCO. Assist in the development of enhancements to existing and new disaster recovery service offerings.

Minimum Requirements

8 years in Disaster Recovery experience including 5 years in replication technologies

Critical Skills

Broad and diverse technical experience with the following technologies:

o Azure or other Cloud based services

o Networking technologies: L3 Routing, IP addressing and IP subnetting, Active Directory, DNS, etc.

o Replication technologies – such as ASR, Zerto, VSR, DataGuard, etc.

o Disaster Recovery Services provided by third party vendors

o IT Security technologies: Palo Alto Firewalls and Firewall Rules,

o Authentication Technologies - such as CyberArk,

o Encryption Technologies - such as Vormetric

o Systems: x86, Oracle, AIX, HPUX and iSeries systems

o Operating systems: Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris, HPUX, etc.

o Storage technologies

o Database clustering solutions: SQL and Oracle

o Backup technologies

o IT Management Technologies

o IT Configuration Monitoring Management tools

• Ability to create technical diagrams in Visio

• Ability to create power point presentations relating to the service design

Additional Skills

  • Previous Disaster Recovery design/implementation experience

  • Thorough knowledge of the specific systems area related to the position

  • CyberArk experience

Education

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

Certifications/Licensure

CBCP preferred or equivalent experience
