Works in a fast paced, high-volume contact center environment with a variety of product support programs managing complex reimbursement issues. Provides guidance and first line support to pharmacy specialists and reimbursement specialists. Monitors and coordinates workload. Responsible for evaluating and providing direct feedback to frontline staff. Works closely with healthcare providers and patients to assist with escalated reimbursement or order status questions. Must have an in-depth understanding of insurance plans and benefit structures in order to obtain detailed benefit information and maximize plan benefits. Must have an in-depth understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and various public funding programs in order to effectively support the reimbursement specialist. This position operates in a lead capacity when the Reimbursement Supervisor is not available to answer questions and provide guidance to frontline staff. Must have the ability to correctly discern problems following established procedures and determine appropriate course of action.
Provides daily operations support to frontline staff to effectively respond to escalated issues and complex cases referred from pharmacy specialists, reimbursement specialists, and customers.
Monitors workload and assigns daily work to frontline staff to ensure productivity levels are achieved.
Monitors telephone calls and reviews case documentation to ensure quality and accuracy of frontline staff output.
Provides to the Supervisor and Team Leader operational and analytical reports to identify and act upon undesired results for productivity and workflow management.
Conducts external research to identify appropriate and specific coverage information for inclusion to the internal resource database for future reference purposes.
Interacts with other departments to support reimbursement-related activities, goals, and objectives.
Monitors service levels to ensure goals and objectives of department are achieved.
4 years customer service experience
3 years of healthcare leadership related experience.
5 years related healthcare related reimbursement experience
Experience in the healthcare industry including, but not limited to, Medicare and/or Medicaid program administration, insurance verification and/or claim adjudication, physician’s office or outpatient billing, pharmacy and/or pharmaceutical manufacturers is preferable.
Must be able to analyze specific data and prepare written reports for management and client communications.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
2-3 years of call center experience preferred
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong problem solving and decision making skills
Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities within a changing environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency with MS Outlook & MS Office
ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT experience preferred
HS Diploma or equivalent
