Title: Coordinated Procedural Scheduler (Per Diem, Seattle) Location: WA - Seattle-Seattle-Central Medical Center North Job Number: 172831

Schedule coordinated medical and surgical procedures and diagnostic testing involving more than one service, test or provider. Manage the coordinated appointing process and serve as a communication link between patients, affected departments and the practice team. Update patient contact information, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and verify financial information. Provide customer service and manage expectations of patients and staff. Manage block time for surgical and procedural clinics and complete clerical duties and medical forms required. Provide routine patient instruction. Qualifications: Education Minimum Education Requirements High School Diploma/GED Preferred Education Associates Degree in health related field. Knowledge/Skills Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements Intermediate Excellent customer service and phone management skills, excellent organization skills, multi-tasking skills, high level communication/problem-solving skills, working knowledge of medical terminology, computer keyboard (Microsoft Office, and relational data bases). Understanding of medical coverage and financing issues. Multi step scheduling skills. Preferred Knowledge/Skills Unspecified Experience Minimum Experience Requirements 3 years Clerical/administrative health care experience and attention to detail. Prior experience in surgical or procedural scheduling, or experience as an LPN, nursing assistant or medical assistant. Prior use of computer applications with demonstrated expertise in time management and customer service. Preferred Experience Other Experience Clinical scheduling experience in physician offices, operating room, etc. Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred. License/Certifications Minimum License/Certifications Requirements At time of hire Eligible for certification as a medical assistant. Preferred License/Certifications None Required
