IBM is looking for a Data Scientist to work on challenging big data problems through the use of statistics and predictive analytics techniques. We are looking for people able to extract meaning and interpretation from data. The candidate will be part of a team of Data Scientists with diverse backgrounds working together to find patterns, build models and design algorithms to gain insights for making data-driven decisions. Candidates should be able to communicate technical findings in clear language and with data visualizations. The candidate will have a team of data engineers to support them and provide the infrastructure necessary to develop their proposed new methodologies and novel findings
• Demonstrated track record of working with executive-level organizational leaders to identify strategy and operational priorities addressable by specific analytics capabilities.
• Demonstrated success in planning and directing the execution of analytics-implementation packages and other solutions.• Hands-on familiarity with analytics methods commonly applied in the social and cognitive sciences, including, but not limited to: “Classical” methods (e.g., regression modeling, discriminant analysis), machine-learning techniques, factor analysis, latent-variable analysis, and probabilistic-graphical models (e.g., Bayesian Networks).• Fluency in the application of R (three to five years) and SPSS Modeler (three to five years) to practical business problems.• Prior success in complex data architectures, particularly in the definition of conceptual data models.
