To assure the provision of Radiology Services in an efficient & cost effective manner within an effective working relationship with the Radiologists.
Essential Functions: - Provides leadership for the coordination & oversightof all Imaging Scheduling (Nuclear Medicine, PET, CT, MRI, Breast Procedures, Breast Care Services (Mammography Trackers, Coordinators, & Breath Health Program) & follow up care. - Supervises the Customer Service Program & works in partnership with Radiology Supervisors to conduct trainings. Works closely with the Radiology Supervisor to ensure excellent clerical workflows. - Provides support & monitoring of co-pay collections within all Radiology centers. - Supervises assigned staff to include interviewing, hiring, training, disciplining, counseling, & termination in onformance with established EEO/AA goals, personnel policies, & appropriate union contracts. - Develops procedures, systems, & performance standards for the Radiology Department Scheduling Staff & Breast Care Services. Promotes good employee relations & an environment conductive to job satisfaction & a high level of motivation. Coaches staff in the performance of their jobs, setting realistic, specific, & measurable goals & objectives to ensure that performance standards are met. Provides meaningful, subjective feedback. Develops & implements the Service Management Plan for the Department. - Collaborates with other supervisors, managers, & medical staff as a member of the medical facility management team to plan & facilities the delivery of efficient & responsive health care to patients. - Reviews procedures, techniques, quality of work, safety procedures, & other factors, recommending or instituting changes supported by written plans as appropriate. Implements new procedures & assists staff as necessary to ensure a complete understanding & a smooth transition from former practices. - Assists in the development of, & ensures implementation of quality control standards. Oversees record keeping which documents compliance with Health Plan, state, & federal standards. - Ensures that the department is in compliance with all relevant laws, state & federal standards, licensing & accreditation requirements, coordinating all aspects of licensure & accreditation for Radiology suites within the region. - Develops & manages resources to include payroll, non-payroll, & capital equipment budgets as well as space requirements. - Reviews staffing needs for Radiology on a regular basis. Assists in the projection of future needs, taking into consideration productivity, utilization, operating costs, & budgetary data as requested. - Assures compliance with organizational policies to include monitoring outside radiology referrals. - Plans & conducts orientation programs for all new department staff to facilitate their assimilation & skill development, coordinates, & provides ongoing training & in-service education for medical facilities utilizing the full service Radiology Department. - Coordinates appointment scheduling with Radiologists to assure adequate appointment availability and assimilate to all tests when accessibility falls below standards, & initiates appropriate stops toward resolution. - Maintains historical & demographic statistics for use in analyzing of services & developing long range plans for radiology services. - Orders supplies, ensuring adequate levels are maintained in the facility. Contacts appropriate technical representatives to arrange for necessary equipment maintenance & repair, & new purchases. - Performs other related duties as requested.
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Experience - Four (4) years of experience in a Radiology Department setting and familiarity with scheduling guidelines/protocols within all modalities. Education - Bachelor's degree in health care, or a related field OR four (4) years of directly related experience required. - High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration - N/A.
Additional Requirements: - Effective oral and written communications skills required. - Familiarity with management theory and principles required. - Familiarity with PASS, purchasing, payroll procedures as well as Quality Assurance policies and procedures required. - Familiarity with all equipment in the department required. - Familiarity with Anatomy and Physiology required. - Effective oral and written communications skills required. - Familiarity with management theory and principles required.
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous supervisory experience in a health care setting preferred. - Master's degree in health care administration, business administration, or a related field preferred. Breast Health knowledge preferred.
