IBM Data Analyst and ETL Developer in SINGAPORE, Singapore
Job Description:IBM's Supply Chain has embarked on the journey to create the first Cognitive Supply Chain. The Smarter Supply Chain Analytics CoC is looking for highly motivated Technical talent who will get an opportunity to learn and contribute to various aspects of Cognitive Solution.The role is a hands-on position for an experienced Data Analyst and ETL Developer. This role includes Integrating with the Iteration team on ETL development in an Agile Environment. This is a hands on lead role including ETL development, and conducting reviews for the team, interacting with broader team to perform hands on data analysis. With this role, you will use technical and negotiations skills in collaboration with other support organizations to prioritize and work problems to resolution. You will look for avenues to recommend/or implement new solutions or improvements to existing technical support tools, procedures, or processes. Participate in department objectives such as building the knowledge base (writing technical tips).Responsibilities:
Perform ETL development work during iterations. Participate in Iterations, including Scrum meetings, to understand functionality that will be deployed to Production. Complete assigned development during iterations and resolve defects. Develop and maintain documentation according to Data Lake standards. Accountable for quality and timeliness of technical and business solution that meets Data Lake's business needs.
Participate with Dev team for awareness. Reviews Dev plans and Dev tasks after completion as well as test scripts for learning new function
Perform hands-on data analysis and development using Datastage
Ability to continue to work on open issues as required (i.e. some issues must continue to be worked through resolution across shifts; some issues are in progress of being worked and require continued follow-up and communication to Super user Community, etc.)
Perform operational and project tasks related to Production Support activities as needed. This covers tasks such as request analysis, design, documentation, test management and test execution.
Monitor job schedules/check data load schedules and take corrective action for failures. Resolve issues quickly to maintain SLA for report distribution. Conduct initial Root cause analysis for errors and defects, provide as much details as possible when requesting help from others, clearly communicate the status of the issue, including analysis that has been completed and the help that is required to work through the issue. Conduct RCA to determine root cause. Identify preventive measures and implement to avoid future issues
Write stored procedures and functions as required using the PDA (Netteza) platform.
Log and track defects, respond/communicate with Super users and IBM Teams. Works closely with Super users, provide good responses, timely responses to concerns, questions, issues
Helping with missing/incorrect data and comparison with the DB. Helping/Testing incorrect functionality issues. Investigate incorrect/missing data issues, functionality issues, US errors or user profiling issues
Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
3-5 years DataStage experience in large Information Warehouse (IW) projects, preferably in Manufacturing / Supply Chain environments.
At least 3 years experiences in Data Analysis .
Good understanding of IBM InfoSphere Data Stage (Data Stage designer, director and administrator)
Solid Knowledge of SQL, writing stored procedures
Strong development experience in ETL using Data Stage.
Good understanding of ETL design patterns (load strategies, error handling techniques & data cleansing methods)
Knowledge of installation & configuration of Data Stage will be added advantage
Data Modeling concepts (Dimensional and Relational) will be plus
Experience in Manufacturing or Supply chain centric industries would be preferred
Experience in DB2 and Nettezza database is a plus
