Shell is currently looking to recruit high calibre MBAs to help us drive our growth. You will start in a challenging role in one of our businesses in Singapore.

You will be given hands-on responsibilities which require you to apply your MBA learnings around sustainable profitable growth, finance, change management and strategy right away and implement them. We're currently recruiting for the following position:

Strategy Consultant

Strategy Consultants are charged with supporting and managing project workstreams to explore, identify and propose implementable solutions to achieve continuous improvement in our business. Strategy Consultants take an important role in delivering high quality projects on time, providing clear business-based and implementable recommendations drawing on internal and external data & perspectives.

Strategy Consultants support the delivery of high-quality projects that challenge the status quo and provide enterprise first recommendations. Strategy Consultants continue to develop their own skills and personal leadership competences to broaden their Shell experiences and career objectives and contribute to the development and improvement of the Consultancy operations.

During their journey in Strategy Consultancy, Strategy Consultants work on a breadth of projects, which are strategic, commercial and operational in nature. The close link of the Strategy Consultancy with the Strategy teams at group, DS & US level as well as the functions allows for a joined up direction for projects to closely link with the RDS strategic agenda.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Contribute strategic, conceptual and analytical skills to projects on location

  • Build skill to mastery competence in the McKinsey problem solving methodology

  • Build skill competence in project leadership

  • Understand the sources of value (how we make money) within and across our businesses

  • Maintain an externally informed perspective on our business opportunities and challenges and how can we leverage these opportunities in our projects

  • Build a commercial mindset to capture opportunities and prioritize activities that deliver value for the enterprise

  • Secure client support and buy-in through demonstration of value and quality of Strategy & Consultancy project management skills and approach

  • Secure commitment of business customer to follow through project recommendations

  • Action project recommendations and provide support to implementation team

  • Help to build DX knowledge management system including new tool/framework development, refresh and knowledge transfer

  • Demonstrating strong HSSE, cost, D&I and communications skills

Requirements

  • Strategy Consultants will work on commercial problems across RDS

  • Able to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders across RDS and within the Strategy organisation

  • Provide an opportunity to collaborate with the wider RDS

  • Harness creativity of others and self to generate new approaches to solve highest priority problems

  • Understanding client needs and developing solutions that best fit these needs - Understand what our customers need (immediate and long term) and focus on delivering innovative solutions to meet these needs

  • Working virtually with clients and interacting with multiple stakeholders - Focus on external partnerships that deliver value to customers and stakeholders

  • Getting work done through others

  • Manage & support decision making with incomplete data or ambiguity at times
