Howalt McDowell is looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high energy environment to join our Employee Benefits team as an Account Manager.

In this role, responsibilities include:

Develop and maintain business relationships with clients through day-to-day services assistance. Act as the liaison between the client and vendors/carriers to resolve issues. Market new and renewal business. Be familiar and knowledgeable with multiple carrier guidelines, products and plan options. Assist with marketing data gathering including assembly of census, claims and policy specific information for benefit plans. Also prepare renewal binders, proposals, and spreadsheets.
Must have a general understanding of compliance and regulatory issues impacting employees benefit programs such as ERISA, HIPPA, ACA, and COBRA. Qualifications Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities that will help make you successful in this role: Insurance industry or Human Resource and benefit experience. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that instills good working relationships with customers, clients, co-workers and management. Computer proficiency with, Outlook, Excel Spreadsheets, Word documents, Internet search and ability to learn Agency Management Systems. Ability to complete projects that require a high attention to detail. Must be an independent, critical thinker who is a self-starter and deadline driven. Life, Health and Accident license required within 6 months of hire.
