POSITION SUMMARY

Aetna s Life and Disability Group Insurance area is seeking an Large Group Underwriting Consultant. In this role the candidate will underwrite Life and Disability cases and contribute to the profitability and sales of Aetna.

Fundamental Components:

  • Underwrite Life and Disability

  • Build relationship with Field Sales Force

  • Meet individual and team metrics

  • Manage inforce block of business

  • Perform on special projects

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:· Previous (3-5 years) experience in underwriting and/or LTD claims. · Ability to learn rating and underwriting concepts.· Demonstrated analytical and independent thinking skills.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.· Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management. EDUCATION

    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

    Underwriting/Group Benefits Associate is desired

    FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCES

    Functional - Underwriting/Group insurance/1-3 Years

    Functional - Underwriting/Pricing methodologies (manual, experience, blended, alternate, etc.)/1-3 Years

    TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCES

    Technical - Desktop Tools/Microsoft Outlook/1-3 Years/End User

    Technical - Desktop Tools/Microsoft Word/1-3 Years/End User
