I. Job Summary
You will implement and coordinate business unit safety programsrequired for compliance with OSHA regulatory requirements and company safetypolicies. You will partner with our Michigan District Management Teams to ensure our operation practices are meeting Waste Managements high standard of Safety.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be ableto perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may beassigned.
- Develops district-specific plans with district manager.
- Administers rules and conducts site assessments to monitorsafety compliance.
- Trains and mentors field operational management withinassigned business unit regarding the safety process. Providesoversight for alloperational safety training within business units.
- Analyzes risk trends and manages risk associated withsafety compliance.
- Identifies, counsels and coaches employees who routinelywork in environments with high risk to safety.
- Serves as a team member for Safety Operational AssessmentReview (SOAR).
- Consults and provides input towards annual safety budget.
- Participates in corporate safety committees.

A. Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree( accredited), or in lieu ofdegree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant workexperience.
Experience: Three years of relevant work experience ( inaddition to education requirement).
Experience Preferred: Transportation operations experience.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or OtherRequirements
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Strong knowledge in Safety Rules & Regulations includingDOT and OSHA, strong communication and leadership skills, and public speakingexperience.
Intermediate level working knowledge - MS Office(Excel, Work, Powerpoint, Outlook)
