Summary:TheGeospatial Analyst –Expertis responsible for the integration of Geospatial Information Systems and data within the organization. TheGeospatial Analyst –Experttranslates GEOINT requirements into appropriate requests for GEOINT databases and applies special techniques to extract additional intelligence from geospatial products.

  • Analyze intelligence issues, military affairs, and use GIS to develop Geospatial Intelligence reports and products to solve problems.

  • Harness all geospatial tools and techniques with available data and provide relevant and insightful intelligence.

  • Provide senior level advice to senior leadership in NGA and the IC at the office and directorate level.

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise to advise organizations outside of supported area as requested. Collaboration should be a normal part of duties.

  • Serve as a mentor and oversee others in their work.

  • Position may require shift work.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 16 years of experience or Master’s degree with 14 years of experience or Doctorate degree with 11 years of experience.

  • 20 years of experience can be used in lieu of degree.

  • TS/SCI required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Complete and thorough knowledge of tradecraft.

  • Proficiency with digital cartography, image processing, computer technology, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, and photogrammetry

  • Proficiency with ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcView, ArcIMS, ArcTools, the Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) system, SocetSet, TerraExplorer/Builder, RemoteView, ERDAS IMAGINE, MRSID, VB/VBA (or some other object oriented programming/scripting language), Oracle and other appropriate software to analyze geospatial data

  • Proficiency with the following applications: Web publishing, and Web hosting technologies, along with Geospatial Database generation/maintenance applications

  • Proficiency with ArcGIS 9.x and its component extensions, along with the ability to create tailored scripts; working knowledge of ArcIMS and HTML editing; strong data mining and management skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial imagery, products, processes and sensors

  • Proficiency in using MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Familiarity with electronic publishing and structured authoring software (SGML, HTML, or XML languages)

  • Familiarity with the following data formats: (e.g., DTED, VPF, CIB, ADRG)

  • Comfort in working with advanced hardware and software technology and databases

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Must have the ability to work shift work as required.
