Summary:TheGeospatial Analyst –Senioris responsible for the integration of Geospatial Information Systems and data within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Translate GEOINT requirements into appropriate requests for GEOINT databases and applies special techniques to extract additional intelligence from geospatial products.

  • Read and understand intelligence issues, military affairs, and use GIS to develop Geospatial Intelligence reports and products to solve problems

  • Work with no oversight and be fully capable of meeting all services required without direction

  • Provide direction to lower level contractor employees (apprentice and journeyman) and of performing quality control and quality assurance checks on other employees' work

  • Provide oversight of fellow contractor employees from their own company

  • Senior Analysts are expected to provide advice to government leadership on processes, procedures, technology, and items of interest

  • Lead collaboration across NGA and IC analysts in the performance of services. Such collaboration efforts should lead to better synergized analysis than the sum of the individual parts

  • Senior Analyst should provide senior level support to NGA office level leadership

Position may require shift work.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 6 years of experience or A master’s degree in a field related with 4 years of experience.

  • 10 years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • TS/SCI required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient with digital cartography, image processing, computer technology, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, and photogrammetry

  • Proficient with ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcView, ArcIMS, ArcTools, the Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) system, SocetSet, TerraExplorer/Builder, RemoteView, ERDAS IMAGINE, MRSID, VB/VBA (or some other object oriented programming/scripting language), Oracle and other appropriate software to analyze geospatial data

  • Expert in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image processing, or regional expertise is also desirable

  • Demonstrate knowledge of commercial imagery, products, processes and sensors

  • Proficient in using MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Familiarity with electronic publishing and structured authoring software (SGML, HTML, or XML languages)

  • Familiar with the following data formats: (e.g., DTED, VPF, CIB, ADRG); NGA imagery and geospatial products, data attribution techniques

  • Comfort in working with advanced hardware and software technology and databases

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient with the following applications: Web publishing, and Web hosting technologies, along with Geospatial Database generation/maintenance applications

  • Proficient with ArcGIS 9.x and its component extensions, along with the ability to create tailored scripts; working knowledge of ArcIMS and HTML editing; strong data mining and management skills

  • Ability to harness all geospatial tools and techniques with available data to provide relevant and insightful intelligence
