Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Site Security Specialist on our BOS-E contract in Springfield, VA. The Site Security Specialist has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train security personnel in the areas of document control, personnel clearance processing, and visitor control.

  • Manage and maintain the classified document data base.

  • Manage and maintain the personnel clearance data base.

  • Ensure adherence to regulations for generation, transfer, storage and handling of classified materials.

  • Responsible for operation and maintenance of security equipment, alarms, and access control system.

  • Develop, implement and maintain procedures for classified and accredited AIS systems.

  • Plan and coordinate security services and related functions including the implementation and supervision of programs to ensure maximum utilization within the facility.

  • Manage budget for security staff in direct support of classified contact administration.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI.

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or Security and/or at least 2 years DoD security related experience.

  • Must have or be able to obtain Industrial Security Management Certification.

  • Requires operating application software, including word-processing and spreadsheet programs.

  • Position may require travel.
