Corporate Web Journalist, Job Description:

Monsanto’s Corporate Marketing and Digital Team are seeking a highly motivated Corporate Web Journalist who will report to the Global Corporate Web Strategy Lead. This role is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and organization that is charged with helping multiple stakeholders understand and advocate for modern agriculture.

The Corporate Web Journalist is responsible for creating and acquiring content for Monsanto’s web properties. This role will work with business leaders and communications managers across the company to produce high-quality and shareable content online. This role will have writing and content management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with writing and editing content, including feature articles, news items, video/multimedia and infographics for Monsanto's websites

  • Working with stakeholders to identify key stories relating to business and corporate strategies. This includes collaborating on story themes and goals and identifying the stakeholders’ content requirements.

  • Working closely Website Strategy Lead to identify new content areas and areas of improvement on Monsanto’s websites.

  • Creating and managing Web editorial calendars, providing original content to be shared across Monsanto sites, newsletters, and global channels.

  • Working with global stakeholders to tell local country stories and ensuring global consistency in brand story telling.

  • Using market intelligence and research to assess trends in the marketplace and integrate into strategy and content development.

  • Monitor digital channel analytics and implement SEO strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years experience combined of journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations experience

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills

  • Affinity for and experience in creating excellent content, keeping up to date on digital best practices, general working knowledge of content strategy

  • Exceptionally strong verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical information into compelling messages for broader audiences

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously by leading team-based collaboration and enforcing effective accountability models for deliverables

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization

  • Strong leadership skills and interpersonal effectiveness

  • Results orientation

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence others and take ideas from strategic planning to execution

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful relationships engendering trust and higher degrees of collaboration

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in a Content Management System

  • Has knowledge of web strategy and user segmentation

  • SEO strategy and implementation

  • Knowledge of web analytics

  • General knowledge of video and photography
