Monsanto Credit Analyst in ST. LOUIS, Missouri

The Global Finance Organization at Monsanto has an excellent opportunity available for a Credit Analyst to join our team. This role is responsible for account ownership for all credit related processes for assigned dealer, grower and financing portfolio in the US Seed and Trait Credit Organization across all brands. This role will lead account analysis, risk mitigation evaluations, and the establishment of credit lines for these portfolios. This job offers a unique opportunity to broaden your knowledge of US Seed & Trait business by learning how Monsanto evaluates credit risk and engages with customers. This role provides an opportunity to interact with members of the Credit Leadership Team, Commercial Finance Leadership Team, Finance Leadership Team, Sales, Operations and Marketing as well as many of our customers.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Execute the annual credit review process consistent with credit policy and review guidelines and operational procedures. Develop internal and external communication plan of assigned lines, including cross-functional and finance review of lines.

  • Partner with Sales and Operations leadership to ensure alignment between Commercial and Credit strategies.

  • Lead in-season credit review process and order monitoring in close coordination with brand Leadership, Operations and Sales teams. Analyze customer credit, financial, and industry information to establish customers' credit limits permitting highest profitable sales while limiting exposure.

  • Development of strong relationships with assigned account constituencies, including customers, Field Sales and Customer Operations. Collaborates with key stakeholders to support, develop, and communicate respectfully on credit policies and credit risk mitigation strategies.

  • Plans credit restriction tactics for risky, slow pay, and sensitive accounts. • Ensures compliance with credit policy and procedures along with Sarbanes Oxley controls. Support internal and external audit requirements. Recommend policy and process improvements as appropriate.

  • Lead cross-functional projects and process improvement opportunities in support of business goals and objectives. Identifies opportunities, evaluates action-plans, obtains management support, develop and deploys cross-functional projects including IT, Operations and Sales. • Complements technical credit risk analysis with in-person visits to selected sample of portfolio.

  • Recommend and promote key risk mitigation strategies designed to maximize sales without creating unnecessary risk. Drive the utilization of in house financing as a key risk mitigation strategy for dealers.

  • Roll out and train sales force, marketing, supply chain and other internal customers plus dealers, growers, strategic accounts and other external customers on financing offers and credit processes.

Required skills/experience:

  • Candidates should possess very strong interpersonal and leadership skills, combined with solid analytical skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance or a related field of study

  • 3+ years of related experience in a finance/accounting role

  • The candidate must have ability to travel for customer visits and training. (Typically 1 – 2 day trips).
