Position Title Sector Lead Supply Chain
Germany - Baden-Württemberg
Select and develop supporting staff across the Process and Automation organization to meet current and future business requirements across a broad range of supply chain related disciplines.
Develop, build consensus for, and execute strategic decisions to develop the team’s capabilities in the supply chain sector. Includes creation of supply chain strategies for new products and working with cross functional team
Continuously improve product cost, quality, delivery and service levels
Drives optimization of inventory performance to balance clients’ investment with production service level requirements. Create raw material strategies with awareness of forecast volatility, factory space, product impact to business, and supply chain risk. Inventory plans will include supplier’s sub-tier raw material continuity risk mitigation.
Ensures supply chain processes and functions to comply with designated financial and regulatory control requirements.
Represents supply chain function and supports compliance efforts as part of third party inspections or internal audits
Engages with cross-functional teams to routinely evaluate clients’ existing suppliers based on performance and risk, new suppliers for capability and business fit as well as help set criteria for supplier evaluation at a company level.
Develops and maintains department supply chain operating procedures and business systems.
Develops, communicates and drives execution of goals to meet operational priorities and plans as related to supply chain operations
Deploys and oversees supply chain risk management practices to ensure that business interruption, supplier capacity and capability risks for clients are minimized.
Participate in the continuous improvement of current systems and processes.
Create and negotiate Supplier contracts to achieve the best cost, quality and delivery possible.
Oversees supplier forecasting process to ensure short and long term visibility is available for supply chain capacity and delivery planning
Coordinate RFQ's to internal or external suppliers
Support the comprehensive continuous improvement philosophy and implement a Lean Supply Chain concept.
Develop action plans which include process optimization to lower cycle times and reduce scrap
Mentor and develop Process/Logistics Engineers
Look for and pursue new technologies which will improve your areas of responsibilities
Work with the quality personnel to understand and identify root cause issues and implement plans to reduce the future risk
Ability to read/interpret blueprints, drawings, or other technical material.
Participate in the Process and Automation Innovation Team to develop and push Industry 4.0 products and services related to supply chain.
BS degree or equivalent and 10+ years of experience in mixed volume manufacturing environments with high product complexity.
8+ years operations management experience with medium to large size manufacturing organization.
Highly proficient in MS Office products and ERP systems.
Working knowledge of material pull systems and other lean based material handling principles.
Detailed understanding of material planning, factory scheduling and supply planning.
Sets model for precision and thoroughness in all forms of communications.
Strong capability in building consensus across varying functions and clarifying alignment toward designated business strategies
Proven ability to lead and develop a high performance team to consistently achieve stretch goals and objectives.
Ability to direct and develop employees to have a commitment to high standards of quality and performance. Successful track record with retaining key, high potential staff and recruiting new talent to scale with business demands.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully
Excellent verbal and written communication in both German and English
Ability to make effective presentations to peers and suppliers
Ability to recognize potential team issues, proposed solutions and gains commitment of team and other peer managers.
Proven experience and track record regarding supplier and inventory management across multiple manufacturing platforms, process improvement of complex logistics, negotiations and contract development.
Has shown initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations.
Has solid leadership skills and able to manage both vertically and horizontally
Possesses basic statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects.
Analytical problem solving. Excellent attention to detail.
Has demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority.
Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team-based environment.
