Position Summary:

The Demand Planner will have responsibility to develop and facilitate the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) demand planning process and management scorecard reporting of all relevant demand data for the CMD businesses. The Demand Planner will support our Site Leaders, Business Leaders, and BU Supply Chain Leaders by maintaining instrument forecasts at the SKU or product family level. This position will provide the data to drive our SIOP and inventory strategy for Finished Goods, raw materials, and overall inventory position to improve our cash flow while still improving our costs while improving quality, service, reliability, as well as developing our strategic partnerships with our vendors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of a forecasting process for instruments that includes sales, marketing, customer and operations input

  • Coordinate with the BU Supply Chain Leaders to implement and execute a world-class SIOP process/tool procedure for supported business

  • Lead the process review and finalization leading to implementation of a process to deliver a demand forecast for the products and materials in the supported business

  • Monitor and communicate weekly the progress of ship plan and open slots

  • Provide training and supporting tools/presentations/programs/and templates for demand planning/sales forecasting across our businesses

  • KPI ownership for forecast accuracy and customer service levels (OTS)

  • Communicate and interact with broad functional areas (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance) to develop and execute monthly demand plans

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Engineering or Business

  • 7-10 years’ experience working as a demand planner/sales forecaster within the Supply Chain field. Experience with manufacturing is desired.

  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, ERP systems/MRP systems (SAP), word processing, spreadsheets, and email

  • Experience working with forecasting processes and software (Sales & Material levels)

  • Experience with Process Improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)

  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and manage associated stress

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to travel 20% of time
