Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to be based in our Swindon office.

We are one of the world's leading engineering and environmental consultants, offering professional planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental, construction and programme and construction management services throughout the UK and internationally. You will be joining a well-established and experienced team in one of our larger offices.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will provide a range of consultancy design services to customers in a variety of fields including Railways, Automotive, Marine and Aviation. You will be responsible for the electrical design solutions and producing the detailed design drawings.

In addition, you will need to keep up to date on all the latest products and legislation, maintain a CRM system, report on any competitor activity, communicate with the existing team including the sales department and attend regular corporate meetings. Some travel will be required to undertake site visits and client meetings.

Minimum Requirements

For this role, you will be an experienced electrical power distribution or electrical systems biased professional who has been surrounded by the industrial environment. AECOM is particularly interested in individuals who have performed HV / LV coordination and discrimination studies, participated in distribution network topology design, Design and commissioning of electrical systems and Building Management Systems (BMS). Knowledge of bus communications and control systems would be preferable.

You will be a good communicator at all levels and be able to disseminate information from diverse sources, in order to apply systemic engineering and problem solving principles. You will also be able to demonstrate competent computer skills throughout the MS Office suite of software and concise technical report writing proficiency.

Demonstrable experience to be drawn from the following areas;

• Electrical Design of electrical distribution systems to BS EN 6761.

• Panel and Electrical Schematic Diagram design.

• Circuit protection and discrimination studies

• Electrical systems concept design.

• HV and LV distribution system design and/or commissioning

• Set up & programming of protection relays.

• Setup of Distributed Control and Field Bus systems.

• Electrical Assembly and Installation of machinery.

• Generating quotations.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant qualifications will be required, and membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous for this role.
