At Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute (KPWHRI), our Clinical Research Specialist utilizes professional clinical skills, education and/or experience in data collection for complex clinical/health research trials and utilizes professional clinical skills/training in decision making for data collection/trial intervention(s)/evaluation
Study Name: Annual Estimates of Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness for Preventing Laboratory-Confirmed Influenza (FluVE2). Would you like to play an important role on a CDC Research Study to see how effective the annual flu vaccine is? The Clinical Research Specialist for the FluVE2 study will be enrolling patients who are seeking care for an acute respiratory illness (ARI) at Kaiser Permanente Washington Clinics. This position lasts about 4 months and requires enrolling participants during flu season. We are hiring for 6 different Kaiser Permanente Washington clinics.
We are looking for staff to work in Olympia. Part-time hours available (See posting #172594 for Everett or Bothell, #172591 for Capitol Hill, Northgate or Lynnwood). Study staff members are typically assigned to work at one clinic.
The Clinical Research Specialist will review EPIC schedules, screen, consent, administer a questionnaire and perform nose and throat swabs on participants. Requires some data entry. The position will train in Seattle.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Requires extreme attention to detail, the ability to work well independently and as a part of a team. Experience in a clinical setting or recruiting for research is a plus.
This is a great position for Medical Assistants or Certified Nursing Assistants who are interested in getting research experience or additional clinic-based experience. Motivated individuals who have worked directly with patients in a clinic setting, such as patient care representatives or clinical care coordinators are encouraged to apply for this unique career-building experience. Qualifications: Education Minimum Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Health Education, Nursing or related field as determined by the needs of the project. Knowledge/Skills Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements Intermediate knowledge of research data collection requirements and specialized clinical intervention/measurement/ assessment skills as by the project; able to organize & communicate with multiple parties; and excellent written & verbal communication skills.
