Kaiser Permanente Emergency Services Technician - Urgent Care (0.875FTE, Evenings) in Tacoma/Olympia, Washington
As an Emergency Services Tech you will assist nursing staff by performing designated duties related to patient care in a manner conducive to their safety, comfort, and welfare. The position adheres to instructions given by the nursing/medical staff and performs only those duties as described in the EST skills list and in accordance with established standards. In this role you will demonstrate strong communication skills in dealing with staff and consumers, and project in a professional demeanor. You will participates in classes and skills labs, continuing education, and current CPR certification.
This position will work 1200 - 2230 at the Tacoma location.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
Vocational School/Certificate Prog Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program. EMT training. MA training.
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Basic or limited Basic computer skills. Knowledge and skill in emergency services protocols, patient safety, and clinical standards.
Intermediate Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and clinical staff. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Minimum Experience Requirements
1 year Clinical experience in a emergency department or urgent care setting.
2 years Clinical experience in a emergency department or urgent care setting.
Minimum License/Certifications Requirements
Able to obtain shortly after hire Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist credential or must complete training program and submit application within 90 days of starting training program. Washington State Department of Health issued credential. Approved training program through GHC Laboratory Services.
Able to obtain shortly after hire Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
Able to obtain shortly after hire Medical Assistant-Registered. Must apply within 7 days of hire.
At time of hire Medical Assistant-Certified credential or Interim Medical Assistant-Certified credential. Washington State Department of Health issued credential. Interim credential expires 1 year from date of issuance.
