Our Tacoma Medical Center Orthopedic clinic is a fast paced, multi-provider clinic. The LPN is a close partner with the healthcare team, physicians, RN's and MA's.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the desire to gain knowledge, show intermediate-excellent computer skills, preferably using Epic or a similar Electronic Medical Records system. Critical thinking and organizational abilities are essential.

General Job Summary:

Direct support to physicians. Facilitate patient flow. Assist in minor procedures, i.e. dressings, suture removal. Set-up sterile field, clean equipment. Telephone assessments, screening, follow-up calls; obtain & transmit information; adept at electronic record charting & access; proactive patient schedule prep on computerized network; specialty referrals & visits. Recognize urgent/emergent situations; provide routine patient teaching within scope of practice & telephone follow-up. Patient chart prep & histories; vital signs, basic assessment skills. Participate actively in the team. Coordinate patient care utilizing GHC/community resources. Work with RN support, assist in case/populations management, use registries, pathways, & other clinical tools. Answer questions & provide routine education to patients during visit or telephone call. Select outreach for surgical patients reinforcing routine plan. Qualifications:

Experience Requirements: Preferred: Recent acute and/or ambulatory care experience.

Education Requirements: Minimum: Graduate of an accredited LPN program.

Certification Requirements: Minimum: Current Washington State LPN license. Current Basic Life Support certification.
