Kaiser Permanente Orthopedic Technician - (1.0 FTE, Tacoma/Olympia) in TACOMA/OLYMPIA, Washington

This full-time position will cover both Tacoma and Olympia Medical Centers. A Certified Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.

We have an opening for an Orthopedic Tech in our fast paced Orthopedic Clinic at our Tacoma and Olympia Medical Centers. You will work with a team of surgeons, PA’s, plus RN's and support staff.

Major job responsibilities include: •Assist the physician/physician assistant in the Tacoma and Olympia Orthopedic clinics with the application and removal of casts and orthopedic devices •Provide support to the team with other duties within scope of practice

Qualifications:

Experience Requirements •Minimum: 1 year current experience as an Orthopedic Technician in an ambulatory setting or MA with heavy casting and other orthopedics experience.

Knowledge Requirements •Minimum: Basic or limited Knowledge of different types of casts: application and removal. Suture removal. Familiar with basic medical terminology, especially orthopedic terminology. •Preferred: Intermediate Advanced knowledge of the application and removal of casts. Independent in the workplace.

Education Requirements •Minimum: Graduate of an Orthopedic tech program or equivalent on-the-job training; or MA with casting experience.

Certification Requirements •Minimum: Apply for Medical Assistant, registered within 7 days of hire. Preferred: Certified orthopedics tech
