The Kaiser Permanente Pharmacy Technician performs functions that support the daily workflow of the pharmacy. The Kaiser Permanente Pharmacy Technician ensures the timely and appropriate distribution of drug therapy in compliance with state and federal laws and in accordance with Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures. Qualifications: Education Minimum Education Requirements Vocational School/Certificate Prog Pharmacy technician Knowledge/Skills Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements Basic or limited knowledge of Pharmacy law and its standards of practice. Basic or limited skill in compounding extemporaneous entities. Intermediate problem-solving skills to work with patients and other health care providers Advanced verbal and written communication skills Advanced customer service skills Advanced ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Intermediate ability to identify specified issues and bring to attention of pharmacist. Intermediate ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations, identify drug names and have knowledge of most common uses for pharmaceuticals Intermediate ability to use available resources and tools efficiently and effectively Preferred Knowledge/Skills Advanced the ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations, identify drug names and have knowledge of most common uses for pharmaceuticals Advanced ability to use available resources and tools efficiently and effectively Experience Minimum Experience Requirements 1 year experience working in a pharmacy practice environment using current technology Preferred Experience 3 years experience working in a pharmacy practice environment using current technology License/Certifications Minimum License/Certifications Requirements At time of hire Washington State Board of Pharmacy Technician certification
