Kaiser Permanente Washington is seeking a Registered Nurse – Urgent Care RN to join our fantastic Urgent Care team in Tacoma, WA!

This is a benefited 0.87 FTE variable position, 10-hour shifts, with working hours of 3:30pm - 2:00am, so "evening shift" differential applies!

Tacoma Urgent Care (UC) is looking for an outstanding Registered Nurse to work in our fast-paced UC environment. Our UC operates 24/7, similar to an emergency setting, with 20 beds and over 37,000 annual visits. Our nurses have ICU / Emergency Room background and have a 4:1 patient ratio for taking care of patients ranging from acute MI, sepsis, cardiac arrhythmias, and all other urgent and critical conditions. With an emphasis on customer service and team work, you will be working in close relationship with a team of MDs, PAs along with the added support of a Social Worker.

Excellent triage and assessment skills Demonstrated knowledge and experience in cardiac monitoring Ability to start and maintain IVs Ability to exercise independent professional judgment Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Demonstrates an exceptional level of easily understood verbal communication on the phone Ability to collaborate with care team members Demonstrates care, courtesy and concern in all consumer and colleague interactions Provides culturally sensitive care including consideration for diverse cultures, ethnicity, language, community, background and healthcare beliefs Ability to educate and instruct patients and families in accordance with the nursing plan of care Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills Qualifications:

Experience Requirements Minimum: One year Emergency Department / Intensive Care Unit / Urgent Care / Medical Surgical experience within the last two years Preferred: Two years Emergency Department or Urgent Care experience

Education Requirements Minimum: Graduate of accredited RN program. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certification Requirements Minimum: Current Washington State RN license, CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENPC) are required within 6 months of hire Preferred: Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Chemotherapy certification
