The Assurance Innovation group is developing capabilities leveraging the latest in Open Source technologies to automate and accelerate our client engagements across the enterprise. We are focused on incorporating the latest in machine learning, Big Data, NoSQL, cutting edge development languages,
and advanced data processing techniques to include structured and unstructured information in a loosely coupled ecosystem delivering a technology platform that positions PwC for the future.
Software engineers work closely with other developers to build new features, fix bugs and assist in testing across multiple capabilities while learning and exploring new technologies. Every day our team:
Works with various data stores to include SQL, NO-SQL and distributed filesystem storage;
Develops and integrate capabilities across APIs with back-end services written in one or more languages, e.g. Java, Scala, REST, etc.;
Experiments with Big Data tools and open source technologies as well as research 3rd party technologies.
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 1 in software development.
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Accounting, Finance/Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Statistics Mathematics, Regulatory Compliance, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and/or other business fields of study.
Degree Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, engineering or other related technical field.
Demonstrates some knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
Full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
Java or Scala to include object oriented design;
Continuous integration and standard development environment tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Jira, Confluence, Splunk;
Databases and Representational State Transfer (REST) services;
Web application architecture and technologies; and,
Demonstrates some abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
Utilize Java and/or Scala development to include object oriented design;
Conduct pattern matching, regex creation and approaches to decompose unstructured text;
Problem solve and learn new tools and technologies quickly; and,
Develop test plans, test cases and code automated test scripts which can be integrated with Continuous Integration (CI) processes.
