Job Description

I. Position Summary:

The Nursing Services Administration (NSA) Coordinator is a Registered Professional Nurse who supports the Department of Nursing on weekends and holidays. The NSA Coordinator assists in the administration of the department by participating in operational decisions, problem follow-up, and data collection. He / she oversees and assists in the resolutions of problems that arise in all departments in the absence of those above in the chain of command. He / she acts in the Nursing Department Head's absence, handling and / or advising the on-going operations of the unit to facilitate effective plans of action.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program required.

  • BSN required. MS preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Must be computer literate; familiarity with data entry required

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English required.

A. Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years recent / current experience as Registered Nurse required.

  • Supervisory experience preferred and inpatient experience required.

A. Licensure, Registration or Certification:

  • Current / valid NYS license as Registered Nurse required.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

  • BCLS required.

  • Board Certification required effective 12/16 for fulltime positions.
