Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Geospatial Intelligence Analysts exploit imagery, imagery products (including Advanced Geospatial Intelligence) and geographic products and data to create intelligence solutions for the Warfighter and senior government officials.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

Design, analyze, and develop geospatial solutions and product specific to geographic place names. Perform geographic information systems (GIS) analyses on place name resources and supporting data. Plan, design, develop, document, and analyze spatial and relational databases and builds databases by capturing map information and applying relevant attribution schema. Follow specific, detailed instructions and contribute to the completion of routine technical tasks. Maintain primary contact with the immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the section or group.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

18+ months of experience with GIS applications and implementation.

Knowledge of geography, cartography/map reading, and the Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Knowledge of research gathering and library functions, including querying and ordering

Ability to show a minimum proficiency of Level 2 for Reading Arabic, as defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Proficiency Levels or an equivalent that meets or exceeds the ILR Level 2 for Arabic

TS/SCI clearance

HS diploma or GED

ILR-2 or equivalent Arabic language reading certification

Experience with GeoMedia Pro a plus

Knowledge of the GEONAMES database a plus

Ability to read and translate Farsi at ILR Level 2 a plus

TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph a plus

DESIRED SKILLS:

Experience with GeoMedia Pro a plus

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and two to four years of related experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required. May spend a lot of time standing due to laboratory conditions.
