Your career at Mercer will begin as a Consulting Analyst. You will gain direct client exposure, working with a broad range of clients from various industries, in an engaging environment. Working along-side high-performing individuals within project teams, you will help diagnose issues and design strategic solutions that help our clients drive shareholder and stakeholder value.

Your role as a Consulting Analyst will be to:

  • Work within a team to provide quantitative and qualitative analytical support to senior consultants

  • Conduct research and analysis to understand industry and organization-specific issues, including business strategy, corporate performance, market practice and industry trends

  • Analyze clients' strategic, financial, and organizational information to provide insights that will develop into human capital strategies and solutions

  • Prepare client reports that will be presented to board of directors and senior-level executives

Sample projects include:

  • On-going communication and advisory to Board of Directors and executive teams

  • Benchmarking and assessing executive, board of director, and workforce compensation levels and compensation design

  • Advising companies on integration and retention strategy during corporate transactions (e.g., M&A)

  • Helping our clients align with best practices in corporate governance

  • Providing clients with market trends regarding rewards and incentive design practices

  • Developing career frameworks and structures for an organization’s employees, including salary structures, workforce and succession planning and workforce analytics Working with clients to assess their performance management system

  • Conducting job evaluation and pay equity analyses to ensure organizations are compliant with legislation

  • Supporting clients in developing and articulating a total reward strategy, compensation philosophy, and employee value proposition
