Risk & Governance Consultant
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Governance and Corporate Secretary Support
Assists in the preparation and filing of reports with various regulators.
Assists in developing procedures for records retention for Corporate Secretary function and ensures compliance the retention requirements.
May respond to queries and provide assistance to other functional areas.
Assists with preparation of materials and reports for Board and Committee meetings.
Oversees adherence to the Company’s Outsourcing Policy.
Operational Risk Management
- Assists in developing, implementing, monitoring and maintaining Operational Risk Management policies and processes, to identify, measure, monitor and report on operational risk pertaining to the Travelers Canada entities.
Assists in the management of the Contract Repository to maintain a centralized listing and copies of contracts entered into by the company
Assists in the review of contracts to identify specific elements and clauses and to ensure contracts meet certain compliance and governance requirements.
Manages the Policies and Standards site for Canada (excluding HR policies).
Assists with the annual review of all Board approved policies.
Regulatory Compliance Management
Assists in the development, design and maintenance of Corporate Secretary related compliance programs and quality assurance measures for the company.
Reviews and provides detailed analysis and evaluation of adherence to compliance requirements (and changes to compliance requirements) for Corporate Secretary function.
Assists the Contingency Coordinator with development and ongoing maintenance of the Travelers Canada Business Continuity Management plans.
Assists the Contingency Coordinator, during an interruption, threat, event, or crisis.
Financial Institutions Bond Insurance Renewals & Ad Hoc Projects
Assists in the management of the annual renewal of the corporate Financial Institutions Bond Insurance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Assists in reviewing, monitoring, and/or providing detailed evaluations of processed work, providing recommendations for improvement
Develops and maintains contacts with internal personnel

This incumbent is responsible for maintaining the company's contract repository, policy management, governance and corporate secretary support. Additional responsibilities include regulatory compliance management, operational risk management, business continuity support, and ad hoc projects as required.
Entry Level, Experienced/Professional
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:
Minimum 2 years of related experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels across the organization.
