Eaton Corporation Facilities Maintenance Technician in Torrance, California
Eaton in Torrance, CA is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to work on first shift.
Ensure Eaton EHS policies & guidelines are adhered in all service support activities.
Performs general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, or sanitary systems.
Will be responsible for routine repair and maintenance of machinery.
Requires license or registration by the State Electrical Board. Also should have formal or hands-on training in repair, plumbing, woodworking, painting and electrical systems. Will require the use of personal protective equipment provided by the company.
Responsible for preventive maintenance for all major equipment in the case of equipment failure or shutdown, and when quick fixes are needed.
Electrical installs, such as production equipment, ballasts, emergency lighting, etc.
General maintenance to the facility, such as water leaks, broken hinges, replacing bad light bulbs, etc.
Maintain general cosmetics to the facility, such as painting, hanging new signs, etc.
Technical expertise on pressurized gasses and vessels (like our compressed air tanks), confined space entry, etc.
Will direct and manage any needed contractors on the site (as needed) and ensure they have proper EHS training.
Help code non-PO invoices - basic computer skills necessary.
Perform preventative maintenance as needed
Schedule and maintain records of various regulatory inspections and check (elevator inspections, compressed air tank inspections, etc.).
Support kaizen/OpEx events and projects
Will complete weekly hazardous waste inspection, and notify Heritage when pickup needs to occur.
Will perform all indirect purchases for MFG for the site.
High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Minimum two (2) years of experience performing maintenance and/or facility work.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within a 50 mile radius of Torrance, CA will be considered

Exposure to electronic component functions & its applications
Certification in Electrical work or related field from an accredited associated college or vocational school
Familiarity with various types of test equipment used to test electrical systems and components
Good interpersonal skills, planning and analytical ability and people management skills
Highly ethical and able to work in cross functional team
Good communicator of both written and verbal information
