Monsanto MPS Site Coordinator in UBERLÂNDIA, Brazil

Purpose of Role

This position will provide overall coordination of Monsanto Production System (MPS) implementation and sustainability at site, driving success thru continuous improvements using lean practices as cultural changes are taking place. The role will coordinate MPS implementation and sustainability by working closely with Site Leadership Team, Implementation Task Force Team, Process Leads - Team Leads, Seed Techs, Seasonal Temps; Regional Implementation Lead, Global Implementation Lead, Continuous Improvement networks and Change Management / HR team ensuring systems are used to drive opportunities and one common standard through employee empowerment and a focus on customer needs.

Responsibilities

Technical

  • Understanding of MPS implementation methodology, lean content and change management approach to successfully sustain MPS implementation at site

  • Demonstrated analytical and decision making ability

  • Strong attention to details and organization skills

  • Ability to lead and work cohesively as a team member; interacting and building positive working relationships within the organization and across other functional groups and departments

  • Review continuous improvement opportunities with Implementation Task Force and Site Steering Committee to be implemented to focus on full benefit of employees and business

  • Guide teams to evaluate improvements and prioritize implementation through tracking system

  • Coach / guide the team to ensure the recommendations and actions are follow to improve value for the site as issues and problems are fully visible to site leadership team

  • Lead best practices team and continuous improvements / best practices internally and externally (network)

  • Act as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) in lean practices after the initial MPS implementation and facilitate the continuous improvement journey at the site

  • Ensure change management requirements are being addressed and coordinate change efforts to implement and sustain improvement

  • Ensure adequate and timely communication at sites

  • Ensure adequate training of site personnel

  • Agility to support changes in a dynamic work environment demonstrating an innovative approach to problem solving

  • Develop and review site key performance indicators that provide a clear tracking system on manufacturing performance and drive action

  • Lead Quality initiatives broadly and build a culture to maintain a healthy Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Provide oversight of processes related to product quality in cooperation with seed production management and other stakeholders including but not limited to the Monsanto Global Quality & Compliance Assurance and Control teams

  • Champion the development, implementation, and improvement of QMS and its performance

  • Ensure quality processes that support customer centricity and a premium product delivered to the marketplace in partnership with seed production management, engineering, innovations, & IT

  • Maintain a robust quality system, including QMS and compliance at all levels of site operation Accountability

  • Clear focus on production systems concepts pulling the capabilities of all ITF’s and driving the results (i.e. 5S, VMB)

  • Spend quality time on shop floor

  • Empowering by coaching from inside out – asking open ended questions to trigger the thinking

  • Always try to add value instead of add tasks

  • Smell the place – be sensitive to the real culture on the floor

  • Pay attention to ITF integration – ensure ITF teams are working together to deliver the expected business results

  • Pay attention to standardization & simplification

  • Stay connected with external network to learn and reapply – Implementation leaders, other MPS Leaders and etc.

  • Coach the language (LEAN Language) – create visible changes

Education & Training

Degree in agriculture, engineering disciplines, supply chain, business, management or any related field

Experience

  • Experience in leading and developing teams

  • Skilled at leading, managing conflict and negotiating with cross-functional teams

  • English- Advanced

  • Strong communication skills ( written and oral – open, honest and persistent)
