Monsanto Business Development Manager in UNITED KINGDOM, United Kingdom
Main scope of the role
To develop and implement sales and distribution strategy with national distributors to reach or exceed the annual budget and Long Range Plan in line with the strategic imperatives of the product strategy and overall business objectives.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To develop and manage the National and regional accounts in order to optimise net income through maximising of sales volumes, gross profit and control of costs ensuring national account SG&A funding is invested effectively in line with agreed tactical plans
To establish and build effective relationships from MD level down to field sales force staff with national and regional sales accounts and revenue streams and to proactively and creatively acquire new business based on partnership philosophies and mutually satisfactory terms of business.
To build and maintain partnerships with senior staff and decision makers ensuring we maximise Monsanto’s internal expertise and strengths across all divisions and functions with our national accounts
Identify and develop long term and meaningful relationships with key influencers within the sales territory
Articulate the technical benefits of Dekalb germplasm with national, regional accounts and key influencers to ensure Monsanto maintain a market leadership position
To demonstrate strong leadership by influencing and winning support within the commercial team and our customer base, whilst also being a strong team player working within the commercial business team and to interact across functions.
To take an active part in the formation of regional strategy and business goals and to translate these at a local level to clearly communicated actions plans and objectives across the whole sub region of NW Europe
To consistently strive to create a centre of business excellence, incorporating high levels of quality, customer satisfaction, internal reporting processes and strong communication.
Working with the Marketing team, analyse the country market and competitors to develop specific national account tactical plans and identify potential business opportunities with our key seed and traits accounts
Use initiative and foresight to gather competitive intelligence and apply this information to understand future competitive threats and opportunities.
Degree or equivalent, BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection, CPA3
3 years of proven sales
Working knowledge of Dekalb portfolio/USP’s, basic agronomic skills, computer literacy and appreciation of information systems
Ability to build and maintain a business to business relationship based on the execution of Professional Selling Skills. Rounded knowledge of Ag industry in particular dynamics of the distribution channel, knowledge of global Ag Industry trends. High level of financial understanding and good agility.
