Marsh & McLennan Reporting Analyst in Urbandale, Iowa

Defines, develops, monitors and analyzes company operating performance indicators. Produces, oversees, distributes and analyzes reports to provide insights in support of overall strategies. Collaborates with internal management to define reporting requirements, report development, analyzes outputs and spot trends to assist the business with planning and management of sales and operations activities. Responds to information requests from senior executives for strategic reviews and planning activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs data analysis utilizing knowledge of insurance and data handling to support business improvement and business strategy projects.

  • Develops analytical reports of low complexity to allow fact-based, predictive and 'what-if' decision-making.

  • Manipulates and formats data according to predetermined presentation styles to meet customer needs.

  • Organizes data according to reporting requirements such that key insights can be identified by experienced colleagues (and independently identifies some insights as appropriate).

  • Implements low complexity methodologies within the department, working with colleagues within Business Analytics and IT to maintain and improve the reporting infrastructure, including data housing, data modeling, report performance, and report design and delivery tools.

  • Supports departmental activities to comply with industry regulatory requirements such as compliance standards, health and environmental policy, and department- and operating company-specific procedures and guidelines.

  • Ensures that incoming work is handled effectively, promptly (in line with Key Performance Indicators and other deadlines) and accurately so that the needs of internal and external customers are consistently met and exceeded.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in approach and follow up to achieve resolution of outstanding issues.

Qualifications College Degree or two to four years’ experience in insurance. Excellent computer skills and the ability to navigate through multiple systems. Detail oriented to ensure accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
