The Director of Client Relations Real Estate (McK Canada) is the Principal Point of Contact between the business unit (BU) and McKesson Corporate Real Estate (CRE). The Client Relations Manager (CRM) is accountable for all activities within the McKesson Canada's real estate portfolio. Provides leadership, oversight, development, and strategy; owns activities between McKesson Real Estate and business unit, serves as a strategic partner/consultant to the business coordinating and directing real estate related services to the BU. Drives Corporate Real Estate (CRE) Team to provide proactive solutions aligned with the business strategy through collaboration, influence and industry expertise. Translates business strategy into real estate solutions and provides guidance and consultation to the Real Estate Leadership, Project Delivery and Functional Teams. Acts as an escalation point for Business Unit to Corporate Real Estate for projects for and Corporate Real Estate initiatives. Reports to VP of Client Relations & Strategy with a strong dotted line to the CFO of McKesson Canada.
Act as trusted advisor to key business partner (s) with respect to real estate strategy; communicate Corporate Real Estate (CRE) value to sustain meaningful participation in business unit strategy Influence decision makers and lead change enabling strategic alignment with enterprise goals
Develop credible knowledge of business including financial drivers, market strategy, and strategic drivers. Proactively provide appropriate real estate solutions based on business goals by becoming a trusted partner of the business. Manage change across the enterprise.
Defines and manages multiple strategic projects towards deliverables and timelines, ensures frameworks incorporate broader strategic considerations
Manages expectations and results for BU leadership team, and executive-level BU stakeholders as required
Collaborates with BU clients to establish critical goals, or other key performance indicators and aid the customer in achieving their goals
Coordinates with CRE functions and business partners to meet corporate requirements for capital and expense approvals; present business cases to the BU’s governance and executive committees as required
Provides BU leadership for the Capital Authorization Request (CAR) process and support M&A activities.
Promotes CRE initiatives with the business and enterprise value enhancement
In partnership with Work Place Strategy (WPS) proactively develops real estate portfolio strategy to meet business needs
Proven ability to drive continuous value of real estate portfolio.
Provide input and feedback into standards and guidelines related to workplace strategies
Achieves measurable improvements in quality, cost-reduction and client satisfaction
Strong team player but still a self-starter
The ability to detect client issues early and act proactively in response.
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with broad range of customers from Hourly Workers to Executive Leadership
Travel up to 50%
8 years facilities engineering experience including 5 years managerial experience
5 years of Generalist experience in multiple disciplines that includes Design, Construction, Project Management, Transaction Management and Lease Administration
Must be fluent in French and English
5 years of client relations management
Development and deployment of commercial buildings
Strong communication skills.
Strong presentations skills
Experience in managing large complex real estate portfolio with outsource provider (CBRE)
MS Excel, PowerPoint intermediate
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Real Estate preferred
PMP Certification, Licensed Architect or Real Estate License recommended
Strong leadership skills, communications skills, strategic thinking, and driven towards performance
Strong customer service skills. “servants heart” ability to lead across multiple functions (Construction, TM, HR, IT, Finance)
Strong financial skills, Scenario modeling, self-sufficient
Ability to understand the impacts of business strategy and financial performance
Experience managing outsourced providers and preferably account management experience
Experience in managing Pharmaceutical Distribution and Retail Real Estate portfolios with knowledge of End to End facility life-cycle
Gets results that have a clear, positive, and direct impact on business performance by drawing accurate and actionable conclusions from financial, quantitative and qualitative information
Ability to multi task in a fast paced, high volume, complex matrix organization
Ability to manage a widely dispersed workforce
Ability to effectively communicate negative outcomes
Real estate transactions is a plus
4-year degree or related field or equivalent experience
