Account Implementation Manager - Remote / Southeastern US


SUMMARY -The Account Implementation Manager manages a territory with existing customers of Smarthinking services by consulting on ways to maximize the effectiveness of the service within their environments, expertly managing service implementations and creating and delivering effective training plans and promoting awareness among students. He/she owns the contract renewal process and supports, but is not directly responsible for the acquisition of new customers. The Account Implementation Manager demonstrates a deep expertise in Smarthinking services and how the service can expertly support learners from developmental to graduate levels, on ground and online. They are skilled in basic territory data analysis and in generating customer support for measuring the impact of Smarthinking in their own environments. Their interactions include supporting internal Pearson groups as well as current and potential new customers through presentations online, onsite and at conferences.


  • Provide account management and support on an ongoing basis for all assigned accounts. This will include frequent communication with accounts to drive usage of contracted Smarthinking services; to provide information and training as needed; to offer assistance in any area the school may need and establish support for renewing partnership agreements.

  • Establish consultative relationships with account stakeholders focused on improving retention and persistence through enhanced academic support at the course level. Collaborate with schools on studies that document the impact of Smarthinking. Analyze data and communicate with customers about usage trends at their schools in an effort to maximize service effectiveness.

  • Identify strategic activities to increase service usage and customer satisfaction, and carry out those activities. Problem-solve and create new solutions to old problems. Negotiate pricing with assistance from management and develop/present professional, customized proposals. Sometimes, this may call for collaboration with other Pearson sales and enablement groups who overlap with the customer. Working closely and collaboratively to create a win-win for the customer and Pearson is your first priority.

  • Generate customer support for prescribing online tutoring within curricula by consulting with account stakeholders, leading webinars, distributing marketing materials, providing training to faculty and staff and presenting at conferences.

  • Set up new accounts to ensure a timely and flawless start to their use of the service. Continually train and assist schools in promoting the service to their students/faculty.

  • Create client accounts within the Smarthinking platform to include administrative accounts, student access customization, and service packages to customize access to subjects and time limits. Demonstrate deep expertise in the Smarthinking platform and all applications of our technology.

  • Maintain accurate territory/account information in Salesforce and Smartsheets.Report on progress as required.

  • Strategize with our Education Operations team on ways to continually improve and enhance offerings, facilitate customer conversations on best practices that can impact service efficacy, and promote scalable best practices.

  • Travel as necessary to support job requirements. Typically 20% but could be as much as 40% as different times of the year.

  • Work with Technical Support to resolve issues.

  • Provide support in other areas as requested by management.


A minimum of 5 years of experience in the education field, ideally within a technology solutions sales environment related to solving instructional challenges within higher education. Teaching experience preferred. Bachelor's degree a minimum.
