SUMMARY

Own and be accountable for specific FSSC GAAP accounting and internal financial reporting processes for Chubb’s Combined Accident & Health. Such duties include complete, timely and accurate Financial Reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, along with development of all meaningful analytical support, and variance commentaries.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific deliverables may include: * GL Close – support the monthly close process, including ledger financial feeds and mapping tables. * Financial Analysis – ownership of manual ATR reinsurance calculation and TPA activity including inputs, calculations, and outputs. * Financial reporting – key & primary role in completion of the Combined Balance sheet Fluctuation analysis; work with finance and actuarial personnel in Glenview, along with FSSC staff, to develop meaningful commentary to be submitted to Chubb Corporate. * Account Reconciliations – own approximately 25 control accounts. * Project work- finance UAT lead. * PeopleSoft support- manage chartfield & user change requests. * Support of FSSC goals/objectives, as well as those of Chubb USA and Chubb Group Finance. * Unqualified support of the FSSC Culture – shared staff, collaborative efforts, client service. * All other responsibilities, as directed. Successful candidates should be able to: * Work across organizational and functional boundaries to ensure: key processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner; issues are raised to the appropriate levels, afforded the necessary resources, and driven to successful completion * Work with staff to identify areas requiring improvement, assess scope and direct resources necessary to make improvements and follow through by executing on improvement plans. * Advise senior management on the emergence and progress of deliverables, as well as the appearance of issues or obstacles. * Specifically liaise and influence the actuarial, reinsurance, and other departments, ensuring that various processes are properly interacting with financial reporting.

Technical Skills: * Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting concentration required * Public Accounting experience and/or CPA designation strongly preferred * Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail * Insurance industry experience strongly desired * Mastery of end user applications (e.g., Microsoft products such as Excel/Word/Access). Database query skills are a significant differentiator * Ability to work effectively across organizational areas and levels.
